Sidi Mimoun is a small district in the Marrakech medina. It is still a mix between local people living here, and small riads used for tourist. There are plenty of small stores with all kind of products. The children are playing in the streets and the King’s Guards are sitting in their small wooden sheds to protect the Kings summer palace night and day. The atmosphere is relaxed. It is a good place to be.
Riad Piamour
The riad has a 200 m2 footprint which leaves room for 4 large rooms, where one is private. The rooms have their own spacious bathrooms and lots of build in cupboards. There is a small office next to the washing room upstairs. And very soon the rooftop terrasse will be opened so you can enjoy breakfast, sunbathing or an evening coffee looking out at the Atlas mountains.
On the ground floor you find a hall and a very cosy traditional patio with a large water fountain – and of course the traditional outdoor living room with the sofa on three walls. You have a modern and large kitchen separated from the dinner section with a glass wall. In the dinner room can easily seat 8 persons.
Across the courtyard is the living room with a bio fireplace, a large corner sofa, a reading corner with a big armchair and room to relax. On the groundfloor is another spacious room for guests.
The furniture and decoration is a mixture of Scandinavian design pieces and local, Morrocan design – both new and antique. You will among other things find more than 300 years old textiles on the wall. Pieces you will normally only see in a museum.
Below this text you can see the floorplan of the riad.
